General information only
Everything on this site — the funding directory, lookups, calculators and chatbot — is provided for general information and education. It is not legal, financial, tax, insurance, agronomic, veterinary, engineering or medical advice, and it does not create any professional relationship. Before you make decisions that involve money, land, crops, animals, safety or legal rights, confirm the facts with your local Extension office, your FSA/NRCS service center, your insurance agent, a licensed professional or the agency that runs the program.
Not a government site
This site is an independent project of JoeTheVoter. It is not operated by, endorsed by or affiliated with the USDA, FEMA, NOAA, the US Census Bureau or any other agency, university or company named here. Program names belong to their owners. We do not accept applications, make eligibility decisions or process payments for any program.
Data sources and accuracy
- Lookups pull live data from free public sources: the US Census Geocoder, the National Weather Service, Open-Meteo, USDA Soil Data Access, the US Drought Monitor, OpenFEMA and NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center. Those sources can be wrong, delayed, incomplete or unavailable, and we cannot correct them.
- Frost dates, growing degree days and weather history are modeled estimates, not measurements at your field. Soil data is generalized survey information, not a soil test. GPS and space-weather conditions describe general conditions and do not predict how your own receiver will perform.
- Calculators give estimates from the numbers you enter. Check the results, the units and your product labels before you buy, mix, apply, feed or sign anything.
- The funding directory can be out of date. Deadlines, amounts and eligibility change. Always confirm with the program's own agency.
AI chatbot
When it is turned on, the chatbot is an AI system. It can make mistakes, give out-of-date answers or misunderstand you. Its answers are not advice and must not be relied on for safety, legal, financial, animal-health or medical decisions. Messages you type are sent to an outside AI provider to produce a reply, so do not enter personal, financial or confidential information.
Safety and emergencies
If you or someone on your farm is in danger, call 911. For emotional crisis, call or text 988. The Farm Aid hotline is 1-800-327-6243. Never rely on this site in an emergency.
Links to other sites
We link to outside sites for convenience. We do not control them, and a link is not an endorsement. Their content, availability and privacy practices are their own.
Use of the site; no warranty
You may use this site for your own lawful, non-commercial purposes. Please do not use automated tools that overload it. The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, the site owner is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or the sources it links to. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Privacy
- There are no accounts, no sign-up and no contact form. We do not sell or share personal information.
- Addresses you type into a lookup are sent to the free US Census Geocoder to find a location and county, and the resulting coordinates are sent to the data sources listed above. We do not save the address you typed. To reduce repeat requests, the server keeps temporary copies of data-source answers (soil, weather, drought), filed by map coordinates and not tied to a person or to the address you typed.
- Rate limiting: to prevent abuse, the server keeps a short-lived record of recent request times for each connection, stored as a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself.
- Chatbot messages (when enabled) are sent to the AI provider named in the notice above. We do not store them on this site.
- The web server may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
- The accessibility toolbar saves your display choices in your own browser (local storage). Nothing is sent to us.
- This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. A session cookie is used only on the administrator sign-in page.
Accessibility
We want this site to work for everyone. An accessibility toolbar (bottom left) offers contrast, text, spacing and other display options. Many calculators and lookups can also be used with only a keyboard.
If you find an error or an out-of-date link, the best fix is to use the agency's own page for the final answer.
